Wishbone Games keeps building on their kingfisher bird character, and Kingfisher on Wheels is the best version yet. The original Kingfisher came out in 2024 and caught on quickly. Since then there has been Kingfisher Rising and Kingfisher Boo! — each one adding something new.

This time the new addition is a spinning wheel. Two of them, actually. The wheels give you new ways to unlock the egg bonuses in the base game, and the max win has jumped to 10,000x — the highest in the series.

How the Game Works

Kingfisher on Wheels runs on a 5x4 grid with 20 paylines. Wins go left to right. The symbols are all nature-themed — fish, frogs, ladybugs, dragonflies, shrimp, and card royals.

The kingfisher bird is the wild symbol. It also acts as a collect symbol, sweeping up any cash value symbols on the grid when it lands.

Five coloured eggs sit above the reels, one above each reel. Those eggs are what make Kingfisher on Wheels interesting.

The Five Eggs — Each One Does Something Different

When the bonus triggers, the eggs that are active determine what happens during the free spins. Each egg boosts your winnings in a different way.

Red Egg — Multiplier Your wins start at 2x and can climb to 5x as the feature goes on. Every special symbol that lands during the bonus pushes the multiplier up by 1x.

Green Egg — Adder Adds a flat bonus value on top of every cash symbol collected. Starts at 1x your stake added per symbol, and can reach 5x your stake per symbol.

Blue Egg — Upgrades Royals Transforms the low-paying card symbols into cash prizes. Instead of dead symbols on the grid, they all become contributors to your collect win.

Violet Egg — Respins When the kingfisher collects, everything valuable sticks to the grid and the empty spots spin again. Any new cash symbol that lands also sticks. You keep going until you run out of heart tokens or the whole grid is filled.

Golden Egg — All of the Above The Golden Egg activates all four other eggs at the same time. Before the free spins even start, a short setup phase runs to boost the starting values of each enhancement. Then the full bonus begins with every modifier running simultaneously. This is the best outcome in Kingfisher on Wheels by a significant margin.

Triggering a single egg gives you 10 free spins. Each additional egg active alongside it adds 3 more spins.

The Wheel Feature

Three or more Wheel symbols trigger the Standard Wheel. It spins and lands on one of:

  • An instant cash multiplier prize
  • A single egg bonus (any egg except Golden)
  • Wild Reels covering one or more full reels with wilds
  • Wild Drop placing wilds at random positions
  • Super Wheel — an upgrade to the bigger wheel

The Standard Wheel is a nice mid-session event. You do not need to trigger the full bonus to get something useful from it.

The Super Wheel

The Super Wheel fires when three or more Wheel symbols land and at least one is a Super Wheel symbol, or when the Standard Wheel stops on the Super Wheel segment.

The Super Wheel has better prizes:

  • Two eggs active together
  • Three eggs active together
  • All four standard eggs active together
  • The Golden Egg (all modifiers plus the setup phase)
  • Direct jackpot award: Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand

Landing Golden Egg on the Super Wheel is the biggest single result available in the base game. No need to scatter-trigger — the wheel does it for you.

Bonus Buy

The Buy Feature costs 100x your stake and instantly triggers the bonus with one or more random eggs active. At the $0.20 minimum bet that is a $20 buy, which is one of the more accessible buy-in prices around. At the $25 max bet it reaches $2,500, so most players buying in will want to do it at smaller stakes.

RTP and Volatility

The top RTP is 96.03%. Casinos can also run Kingfisher on Wheels at 94.01%, 92.00%, or 90.01%. All four settings are High volatility. Always check which version your casino is running before you spin — the difference between 96.03% and 90.01% adds up fast over a session.

The 27.56% hit frequency means roughly one in four spins produces some kind of result. Most base game hits are modest payline wins. The real money in Kingfisher on Wheels lives in the bonus, especially with multiple eggs active.

Max Win

The max win is 10,000x. At $1 per spin that is $10,000. At $25 max bet it is $250,000.

Getting there requires the Golden Egg bonus with all four modifiers pushed to their maximum values. The multiplier needs to reach 5x, the adder needs to stack high, the respins need to fill the grid with upgraded symbols, and the kingfisher needs to collect all of it in one sweep. It requires everything to go right in the same session, but the 10,000x cap is there and the game will stop and pay it out if you hit it.

For comparison, the original Kingfisher topped out at 5,300x. Kingfisher Rising and Boo! reached 6,000x. Kingfisher on Wheels at 10,000x is a real step up.

Our Verdict

If you've played any Kingfisher game before, Kingfisher on Wheels is the obvious next one to try. The egg modifier system is the same satisfying loop — land the bonus, watch the enhancements stack, collect big. The two wheels add a new layer that makes the base game feel more active between bonus triggers.

The 100x buy at small bets is accessible. The 10,000x ceiling is the highest in the series. The 96.03% top RTP is solid.

New to the series? This is a great starting point if you want the full feature set. If you want something gentler to learn the basics, the original Kingfisher is a bit calmer. Either way, the Golden Egg is the one you are playing for.
