Le Pharaoh is Hacksaw Gaming's Egyptian sequel to Le Bandit. Remember Smokey the raccoon causing trouble in Paris? He's traded his bandit hat for a pharaoh's crown and headed to Egypt. Same core idea as before but with new twists.

I tested this because Le Bandit was solid. Hacksaw usually improves their sequels. Let's see if this one's worth your time.

How It Looks

Egyptian theme. Pyramids and palm trees. Smokey dressed as a pharaoh looking grumpy as usual.

6x5 grid with 19 paylines. Standard setup.

Wins:

  • Five royals (10-A): 0.5x to 0.7x bet
  • Five premium symbols: 1.3x to 4x bet
  • Five wilds: 3x bet

Wilds substitute everything except scatters.

Sticky Redrops - How Wins Work

This replaces the cluster pays from Le Bandit. Works differently.

Here's what happens:

You land a winning combination. Those symbols stick in place.

Each stuck symbol creates a Golden Square underneath it. These are important.

The rest of the symbols drop off and new ones fall in.

If new symbols extend your win or create fresh wins, they also stick and make more Golden Squares.

This keeps repeating until nothing new wins.

Then you get paid for everything that stuck.

One key thing: Rainbow and FS symbols can stick too if they land with a win, but they DON'T create Golden Squares. Only paying symbols do that.

Think of Golden Squares as markers showing where winning symbols landed. You'll see why this matters next.

Golden Riches - Where the Magic Happens in Le Pharaoh

This is the feature that makes Le Pharaoh special.

When it triggers:

If there's a Rainbow symbol anywhere on screen when your Sticky Redrops finish, Golden Riches activates.

All those Golden Squares you marked? They flip over and reveal prizes.

What they reveal:

Bronze Coins: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x

Silver Coins: 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x

Gold Coins: 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x

Special symbols:

  • Pot Of Gold (collects other values)
  • Green Clover (multiplies nearby coins)
  • Golden Clover (multiplies ALL coins on screen)

How it plays out:

Step 1: Clovers Multiply

Green Clovers multiply any coins or Pot Of Golds sitting next to them by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, or x20.

Golden Clovers multiply EVERY coin or Pot Of Gold on the entire screen by the same amounts.

Golden Clovers are obviously way better. One Golden Clover hitting x20 multiplies your entire board.

Step 2: Pot Of Golds Collect

After Clovers multiply everything, Pot Of Gold symbols activate.

They sweep across the screen (top to bottom, left to right) and collect all coin values and other Pot Of Gold values, storing the total.

Step 3: Squares Reveal Again

Here's the twist: after Pot Of Golds collect, all the Golden Squares reveal NEW symbols.

Fresh coins appear. New Clovers might show up. More Pot Of Golds can land.

The whole process repeats. Clovers multiply, Pot Of Golds collect, squares reveal again.

This keeps going until all squares are done revealing.

Final payout: Everything collected gets added up and paid.

This cascading system is why big wins happen. Each reveal can multiply and collect, then reveal more to multiply and collect again.

Four Different Bonus Games in Le Pharaoh

Land 3 or 4 scatter symbols and you get to pick your bonus.

With 3 scatters:

  • Luck Of The Pharaoh
  • Lost Treasures

With 4 scatters:

  • Super Luck Of The Pharaoh
  • Super Lost Treasures

Each plays totally different. Here's the breakdown.

Luck Of The Pharaoh

You get 10 free spins.

Sticky Redrops still work. Golden Riches still triggers with Rainbow symbols.

The upgrade: Golden Squares stay lit up the ENTIRE feature. Even after Rainbow symbols activate them.

In base game, squares disappear after use. Here they stick around, ready to reveal more stuff.

Landing 2 more FS symbols during the bonus adds 2 spins. Landing 3 adds 4 spins.

Straightforward. You're hunting Rainbow symbols to trigger Golden Riches as many times as possible across your 10 spins.

Super Luck Of The Pharaoh

Same as regular Luck but pumped up.

You get 12 spins instead of 10.

Better odds of landing high-value Gold Coins and Pot Of Gold symbols.

Big difference: Every time Golden Riches triggers, you're GUARANTEED at least one Clover symbol.

That's huge. Clovers multiply everything. Guaranteed Clovers mean guaranteed multipliers.

Retriggers work the same (2 scatters = +2 spins, 3 scatters = +4 spins).

If you want the safer, more consistent version, pick this one.

Lost Treasures

Completely different mechanic. No Sticky Redrops here.

You start with 3 lives.

What lands:

  • Dead symbols (worthless, ignore them)
  • Coins (same values as before)
  • Green Clovers
  • Golden Clovers
  • Pot Of Gold symbols
  • Adding Stone Tablet (special)
  • Multiplying Stone Tablet (special)

Regular paying symbols DON'T appear. You're only collecting coins and using special symbols to boost them.

How lives work:

Each spin costs 1 life.

When ANY non-dead symbol lands and activates, lives reset to 3.

Three spins with only dead symbols (or nothing) and the feature ends.

What sticks:

All coins and Pot Of Golds that land stay on screen until collected or the feature ends.

Stone Tablets also stick.

Stone Tablets explained:

Adding Stone Tablet: Each spin, picks one random coin and adds 1x to 500x to its value.

Multiplying Stone Tablet: Each spin, picks one random coin and multiplies it by x2 to x20.

These can hit the same coin multiple times. Watching a coin grow from 5x to 100x to 2000x is wild.

Two ways it ends:

  1. Three dead spins in a row
  2. Grid fills completely with coins, Pot Of Golds, or Stone Tablets

At the end, all coin values and Pot Of Gold values add up and pay out.

This mode is pure grind. You're building coin values over multiple spins, hoping Stone Tablets keep boosting them while you avoid dead spins.

Super Lost Treasures

Same rules as Lost Treasures with upgrades.

Guaranteed: Adding Stone Tablet lands on spin 1. No waiting, you start building values immediately.

Better odds of landing high-value coins and Pot Of Golds.

Otherwise identical to regular Lost Treasures.

Rainbow Over The Pyramids in Le Pharaoh

The epic mode you can't buy.

Trigger: Land 5 scatter symbols at once in base game.

You get 12 free spins with Sticky Redrops and Golden Riches active.

Golden Squares stay highlighted the entire feature (like Luck Of The Pharaoh).

The kicker: Rainbow symbol GUARANTEED on every single spin.

That means Golden Riches triggers every spin for 12 spins straight.

Retriggers work the same way (2 scatters = +2, 3 scatters = +4).

This is the max potential mode. Extremely rare to trigger naturally but devastating when it hits.

Bonus Buy Options

Can't buy Rainbow Over The Pyramids, but you get four other choices:

1. BonusHunt FeatureSpins - 3x bet

Each spin is 5x more likely to trigger a bonus.

You're not buying the bonus directly. You're buying better odds to trigger it naturally.

Cheapest option if you want action without spending 100x+.

2. Rainbow FeatureSpins - 60x bet

Guarantees at least 1 Rainbow symbol lands with a winning combination each spin.

Not quite as good as the epic bonus (which guarantees Rainbow every spin), but close.

You're paying for consistent Golden Riches triggers in base game.

3. "You Must Choose..." - 100x bet

Direct entry to bonus choice menu.

Pick either Luck Of The Pharaoh OR Lost Treasures.

Standard versions, not Super.

Equivalent to landing 3 scatters naturally.

4. "...But Choose Wisely" - 250x bet

Direct entry to Super bonus choice menu.

Pick either Super Luck Of The Pharaoh OR Super Lost Treasures.

Upgraded versions with better values and guarantees.

Equivalent to landing 4 scatters naturally.

Most expensive but gives you the best versions of each mode.

My Experience

Tested across 300 spins at €1 bet.

Base game hit regularly. 29.21% frequency meant roughly every 3-4 spins landed something.

Rainbow symbols appeared maybe once every 15-20 spins. When they showed with decent Golden Square coverage, Golden Riches paid 15x to 40x on average.

Best base game hit: 9 Golden Squares revealed with one Golden Clover showing x10. Everything multiplied by 10, total paid 127x.

Triggered Luck Of The Pharaoh naturally once (3 scatters). Got 10 spins. Rainbow hit on spins 2, 5, 7, and 9. Retriggered once with 2 scatters for +2 spins. Total paid 94x across the feature.

Bought Super Luck twice at 250x:

First buy paid 183x. Six Rainbow triggers, decent coin values, but only Green Clovers (no Golden Clovers despite guarantees meaning at least one Clover appears, not necessarily Golden).

Second buy paid 612x. Eight Rainbow triggers including one retrigger. One Golden Clover hit x20 on a board with 8 Gold Coins. That one reveal paid 380x alone.

Never saw Lost Treasures or Super Lost Treasures in my session. Didn't buy them.

Never hit 5 scatters for Rainbow Over The Pyramids.

Bankroll Advice

Medium volatility means manageable swings.

At €1 bets, €150 to €200 gives you solid playtime.

If buying bonuses:

  • €50 covers 16 Rainbow FeatureSpins (60x) with bankroll left over
  • €300 covers one Super bonus buy (250x) with buffer

Lost Treasures bonuses can brick fast if you get dead spins. I'd want 100x+ buffer after buying to survive a bad run.

Super Luck feels more consistent thanks to guaranteed Clovers. If you're risk-averse, go that route.

Mobile

Plays perfectly on mobile. 6x5 grid fits well on vertical screens.

All features work smoothly. Golden Riches reveals are satisfying to watch.

Bonus buy menu clear and easy to navigate.

Solid sequel. If you liked Le Bandit, you'll like this. If you didn't, the Egyptian theme won't change your mind.

My Rating: 4/5

Strong feature variety, accessible volatility, meaningful bonus choices, 15,000x potential. Would score higher with more paylines and if the terrible 88% RTP variant didn't exist. Great option for players who want features without extreme variance.
