Heist Guys 2 launched on 7 July 2026. ELK Studios moved the three characters from an urban heist setting into the Wild West, ponchos, cowboy hats, dusty saloons. The 6x6 cluster pays grid from the original is gone, replaced by a 5x4 layout with 1,024 ways to win. The Super Wild multiplier no longer adds one per win. Now it doubles. The State Jar is a new base game feature that can deliver free spins or send you straight to the Heist Game without needing the main trigger. And free spins are new to the series entirely.

The Theme

The birds have crashed on landing, accidentally burned a map, and discovered it reveals the location of the lost city of gold and their old enemy Captain Blackfeather. Now they are inside a temple filled with traps, arrows, boulders, and shifting ground. The Egyptian art direction is confident, stone corridors, torch-lit walls, golden treasure. The four birds are fully animated with distinct personalities that come through in the chaos.

How CollectR™ Works

There are no paylines in Pirots 5. The CollectR™ mechanic is the entire payout system.

Four birds sit on the 6x6 grid. Each bird collects gems of its matching colour from adjacent horizontal and vertical positions. All birds can collect special symbols regardless of colour. When birds stop moving, new symbols drop from above and another collection round begins. This continues until there is nothing left to collect on that drop.

Each collected gem pays out at its current level value. Gems have seven upgrade levels. The higher the level, the larger the payout per gem collected. Level-ups happen through Upgrade feature symbols that land on the grid.

The Collection Meter

Every collected gem and Wild fills a Collection Meter above the grid. When it fills, the game waits until all possible bird movements finish, then releases a batch of random feature symbols onto the grid. Feature symbols include coins, wilds, upgrades, and transform symbols.

Captain Blackfeather

Captain Blackfeather is a villain character that appears during play. When he activates, he turns 1 to 4 birds into ghosts and transforms the gems matching those birds into Blackfeather gems. Blackfeather gems are worth more than standard gems at equivalent levels. If Captain Blackfeather enters the Catacombs, he wins every mummy fight automatically, which means guaranteed feature symbol rewards.

Traps and Grid Features

The temple is full of hazards that change how the grid behaves:

Arrows fire across the grid when birds get stuck, swapping gem colours or removing birds entirely. If all four birds are eliminated this way, remaining grid symbols convert to coin symbols.

Boulders can appear in sizes from 2x2 up to 4x4. They roll across the grid, crushing any symbols that are not feature symbols.

Labyrinth is a shifting floor mechanic that separates birds from each other, forcing new routes across the grid.

Portals appear on the outer frame. If a bird is on one end and a collectable symbol is on the other, the bird teleports across to collect it.

The Secret Door

When a bird collects a symbol while on top of a Secret Door trap, the entire 6x6 grid splits into four quadrants and rotates 180 degrees. All symbols and birds move with the rotation. Cross-over floor tiles appear after the rotation, allowing birds to cross positions they have already collected, which would normally be blocked. Catacomb entry is disabled while the Secret Door is active.

The Catacombs

If a bird reaches the corner of the grid marked in its colour, it enters the Catacombs. Inside are coffins, gems, feature symbols, and hidden positions where mummies are waiting.

Defeating a mummy in combat rewards a feature symbol: coins, wilds, or transform symbols. Losing returns the bird to the regular game. Captain Blackfeather, if present, wins all fights automatically.

The Cursed Temple Coin Game

This is the highest-value bonus feature in Pirots 5 at launch. It triggers when the entire grid is cleared during the Secret Door feature.

The Cursed Temple coin game plays on an expanded 8x8 grid with a Cursed Treasure in the centre. Birds collect adjacent coins. When symbols and birds reset the drop counter and a bird reaches the Cursed Treasure with nothing else to collect, the feature activates, adding that bird's total win and dropping extra coins onto the grid. Coins can stack on each other or double existing bird values. Captain Blackfeather can upgrade the Cursed Treasure during this feature, granting chances for additional coin rain.

Tokens and the Multi-World Structure

Nine tokens are spread across three worlds in Pirots 5. Three belong to Cursed Temple (now), three to The Kraken (August), and three to City of Gold (September). Each token is worth 5x the bet when collected. Token progress is global and persistent across all bets and game sessions.

Collecting all nine tokens across all three worlds permanently unlocks the Boss Castle game, which arrives in September alongside City of Gold.

Bonus and Super Bonus

Bonus Game

When birds collect three Bonus symbols during a base game sequence, the Bonus Game activates. It runs for five drops. Crucially, the grid size, Collection Meter progress, and gem upgrade levels all carry over from the trigger spin. You start the Bonus Game in the exact state the grid was in when the trigger happened, not a fresh start.

Super Bonus

If one of the three Bonus symbols collected is a Super Bonus symbol, the Super Bonus activates instead. The Super Bonus runs with the same persistent mechanics, with one addition: every drop also rains coins onto the grid throughout the feature.

X-iter Buy Options

Option Cost What You Get
Bonus Hunt2.5x stakeMore than 3x the standard bonus trigger chance
Mega Hunt5x stakeMore than 20x the standard bonus trigger chance
Heist Game50x stakeGuaranteed entry into the Heist Game
Bonus100x stakeGuaranteed entry into the Bonus Game
Super Bonus250x stakeGuaranteed Super Bonus with 2 Super Wilds

At €0.20 minimum bet, the 50x Cursed Temple buy costs €10, the 100x Bonus costs €20, and the 250x Super Bonus costs €50. The Cursed Temple buy at 50x is the standout option, it delivers the most complex and potentially highest-value feature in the game at a reasonable price.

RTP and Volatility

The top RTP is 96.0%, which is confirmed as the standard setting. Lower operator variants exist down to 87.0%. The gap between 96% and 87% is severe, nine full percentage points. Check the game rules file at your casino to confirm which version you are playing before spending real money on Pirots 5.

Volatility is 7/10 (high). The 25.1% hit frequency means about one in four drops produces a result. Sessions are active at the base level with regular small gem collections, and the larger outcomes concentrate around Bonus game triggers, Cursed Temple activations, and Captain Blackfeather appearances.

Max Win

10,000x your bet. At €0.20 that is €2,000. At €100 max bet it is €1,000,000. The 10,000x ceiling is the same as Pirots 2, 3, and 4. Reaching it requires gem levels at maximum, a well-loaded Cursed Temple coin game with high-value coin rain, and accumulated upgrades and transform benefits working together across the bonus round.

Our Verdict

The RTP spread is the only serious concern. On 96% it is a fair game with substantial feature depth. On 87% it is not. Check first.

If you have played any previous Pirots entry and want to know whether this is worth your time: yes. The CollectR mechanic is tighter, the features are richer, and the Catacombs are new enough to make sessions feel different from the earlier games. If you are new to the series, the learning curve is real but the demo is there to navigate it before real money gets involved.
